What this programme is for
Improvement Technicians are on the ground. They see what’s actually happening, the variation, the delay, the workarounds. This programme gives them the tools and language to do something about it.
It’s suitable for professionals in operational, production, logistics, service or process-driven roles across manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, facilities, retail and beyond. No prior CI experience needed. Just a genuine interest in how things work and a drive to make them work better.

Improvement is learned by doing. Every session uses real process data and real tools. The technique you practise in your workshop, you apply to your own environment the following week.
Monthly workshops: live sessions. Lean tools, AI-enhanced analysis, real operational scenarios.
1:1 coaching: your coach supports your CI work in your specific operational environment.
Workplace improvement projects: real improvement activities you plan, lead and document. Portfolio evidence that reflects genuine impact.
AI-enhanced practice: AI process analysis tools and Copilot applied to your operational data and improvement projects.
Formal three-way progress reviews every 12 weeks
- Written feedback returned within 10 working days
- AI tool guidance applied to your operational context
- Smart Assessor portfolio support against the KSBs
- Mock EPA and targeted preparation
Improvement project write-ups, process maps, root cause analyses, OTJ logs and evidence, all in Smart Assessor. Your manager contributes witness statements and confirms project outcomes.
The EPA is run by an independent EPAO. It typically includes a work-based improvement project report and presentation, and a professional discussion. Your project draws on real improvement work you led during the programme. At least one full mock with your coach.
Where this takes you
