What this programme is for

Business administrators are the backbone of every organisation. The role spans every sector, every size of business, every function. What you do keeps things moving.

This programme develops that foundation into something more. You’ll build the knowledge and skills to work more strategically, support more complex work, and use AI tools to deliver more, without burning out trying to do it manually.

You’ll learn to manage stakeholders, produce high-quality documents, plan and coordinate projects, and make decisions with confidence. AI tools are threaded through every part of that, not as a bolt-on, but as how you’ll work.

What you'll cover

The programme covers all the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the End-Point Assessment, built around real work, not exam preparation.

Every session connects directly to your role. You won’t study theory in isolation. You’ll bring real work into your learning, and take new capability straight back into your day.

Monthly workshops: live, interactive sessions covering the standard’s knowledge and skills. AI tools are applied in every session.

1:1 coaching: regular contact with your Technical Coach. They’ll guide your progress, review your work and help you get more from the programme.

Workplace assignments: real tasks completed in your role, mapped to the KSBs and stored in your portfolio.

AI practice: hands-on use of Copilot and other AI tools applied to your actual work. Not demos. Real application.

Your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) sets out everything you’ll complete and when. Your coach builds this with you at the start.

You’ll have one dedicated coach throughout the programme. They’ll know your context, track your progress and challenge you to go further. They will:

  • Conduct formal three-way progress reviews every 12 weeks with you and your line manager
  • Mark all assignments and return written feedback within 10 working days
  • Help you apply AI tools in a way that makes a real difference to your work
  • Build and review your Smart Assessor portfolio against the KSBs
  • Prepare you for your End-Point Assessment with mock sessions and targeted feedback

All your work lives in Smart Assessor. Assignments, evidence, OTJ logs, reflections, everything in one place. Your coach gives feedback directly through the platform. Your line manager can see your progress too.

Skills England requires a minimum of 348 hours of off-the-job training for this apprenticeship. That’s time spent learning outside your normal duties but within your contracted hours.

OTJ includes workshops, coaching, assignments, AI practice, independent study and EPA preparation. Your coach will help you plan and record it all.

You’ll need Level 2 English and maths before your End-Point Assessment. If you don’t already hold these, we’ll identify the gap at the start and agree a plan. It won’t be an afterthought.

Your EPA is conducted by an independent organisation, the EPAO. It tests the full range of your capability across the programme. For Business Administration it typically includes a knowledge test, a portfolio-based interview and a project presentation.

Your coach prepares you thoroughly. You’ll do at least one full mock before the real thing.

No formal academic entry requirements. You need to be in a suitable admin or business support role with your line manager’s backing. Both of you will sign a Commitment Statement confirming your agreement to the programme.

Where this takes you

A Level 3 qualification. A strong portfolio. Demonstrated AI capability. That combination opens doors.
