Angelika Prudente La Fosse

From the lab to Python

While studying for her masters, Angelika started learning Python in her spare time. She enjoyed it, and began exploring the roles her mix of scientific and technical skills could open up.

Coding was the starting point, not the destination. She wanted to understand what was out there and find the role that suited her best.

Taking the leap

“I knew that jumping into a new industry wouldn’t be easy, but I was excited to take on new changes and new challenges ahead of me because I had faith it would take me somewhere good.”

She found La Fosse Academy on LinkedIn. It offered two things she needed: a chance to widen her coding skills, and, more importantly, help identifying the right role for her skill set.

The support that made the difference

“The intensive course is not for the faint-hearted,” Angelika says. “Having a team that can identify your strengths and areas for improvement makes a huge difference.”

What stood out was how proactive that support was. It focused on success within the Academy and on preparing associates for their careers afterwards.

“Knowing there was always someone invested in our development gave me the confidence to overcome challenges and make the most of the experience.”

A day in the life of a delivery manager

Morning: preparation

Angelika starts by reviewing her calendar and preparing for the meetings ahead, so she’s ready to contribute to discussions or lead them.

Stand-ups and progress

She joins a daily Cyber Security stand-up to check in on progress, priorities and wellbeing across the team. Through the day, she runs stand-ups with project teams to track actions and deliverables, spot blockers and clear them fast.

A Kanban board keeps everything visible: updates, actions, priorities and outstanding tasks.

Stakeholders and governance

Stakeholder management sits at the heart of the role. Angelika keeps her line manager informed on progress, risks and key developments.

Depending on the day, she also chairs governance forums, including the Resource and Prioritisation Meeting and the Security Operations Approval Board. Her job there is to facilitate discussion and support decisions that move projects and operations forward.

What makes it rewarding

For Angelika, it’s seeing a project through from start to finish.

“The journey will always have a few bumps along the way, but it’s overcoming these issues and successfully getting to the end that’s always a rewarding feeling.”

Angelika’s advice

“Always be open to all possibilities and opportunities.”
