We’ve done it! La Fosse Academy has been crowned Best Training Provider at the Women in Tech Employer Awards 2025, and we couldn’t be more excited about this recognition of our mission to create a more inclusive tech industry.
Changing the rules of tech
The rules of tech have changed. It’s no longer about who you know or what your background is. What matters is your potential, your drive and the right support to help you succeed.
This award celebrates what we’ve known all along – that when you remove barriers, provide quality training, and offer genuine support, people from all backgrounds can thrive in tech careers.
Why this award matters to us
At La Fosse Academy, we believe tech should be built by everyone, for everyone. But right now, the industry doesn’t reflect the diversity of the world we live in. Women remain significantly underrepresented in technical roles, and access to training and opportunity isn’t always equal.
We’re here to change that.
While women make up only 28% of the global tech workforce, we’re proud that 53% of our 74 associates trained in 2024 were women. Even better, 54% were successfully placed into career-launching tech roles with leading employers across the UK.
Our winning approach
What makes our approach award-worthy? We reject traditional “hire, train, deploy” models in favour of something more transformative:
- Free, accessible training: We remove financial barriers by offering high-quality training at no cost to participants
- Skills over background: We focus on potential rather than previous experience, opening doors for career changers and returners
- Practical, commercial focus: Our curriculum builds flexible skills that adapt to fast-changing tech environments
- Comprehensive support: We provide mentoring, coaching, and community support to build confidence and resilience
“This isn’t just about getting more women into tech roles – it’s about creating the right environment for them to thrive,” says Rachel, our Engagement Manager. “We’ve built a programme that addresses the real barriers women face when entering or returning to the tech industry.”
Real stories, real impact
One of our standout success stories is Leah Thomas. After completing our programme, she not only secured a Data Business Analyst role but became an influential member of her company’s Women in Tech Committee. She’s gone on to represent at major events like the Global Women in Tech Conference, inspiring other women to consider tech careers.
Leah is just one example among many. Of our 2024 cohort, 55% were career changers, including many women re-entering the workforce after career breaks. Each success story proves that with the right support, anyone can build a fulfilling tech career.
